The international rights group claims it was aware of unlawful killings and beatings by police during protests and house-to-house operations, with at least twelve people killed and over one hundred others badly injured.

The Africa researcher of HRW, OTSIENO NAMWAYA said the brutal crackdown is part of a pattern of violence and repression in opposition strongholds, which undermined the national elections.
