The US-led coalition said it had not hit the convoy, but destroyed a road in east Syria and bombed IS vehicles nearby.
It was revealed that the evacuation was negotiated by the Lebanese army, the Syrian army and its Hezbollah ally, which the US envoy BRETT MCGURK has condemned.
MCGURK said the coalition would help ensure that the terrorists can never enter Iraq or escape from what remains of their dwindling caliphate.
