US and Ukrainian negotiators have developed an updated and refined framework aimed at achieving a peace settlement in the ongoing conflict, according to a joint statement released after talks in Geneva.
Both parties said the discussions on the US-backed proposal had been “highly productive,” and confirmed that intensive negotiations would continue in the coming days.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that significant progress had been made in shaping the plan.
However, while Russia has reacted cautiously and signalled openness to the developing proposal, leaders in Kyiv and several European capitals remain wary, expressing concerns that the approach appears too favorable to Moscow’s interests.
