Unpaid Polytechnic Employees Allege Exclusion from Biometric Exercise, Seek Fubara’s Intervention

More than 150 persons offered employment by Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic have raised concerns over what they described as their exclusion from the institution’s biometric capturing exercise, despite receiving letters of employment and medical fitness certificates.

The affected individuals said they have remained unpaid for over two years and six months, a situation they noted has subjected many of them to poverty, depression and worsening health conditions.

One of them, Gladys Amaewhule, described the experience as unbearable. A widow, she said the alleged denial of access to the biometric process has left her and her children struggling to survive.

The affected staff questioned the decision of the institution to plan fresh recruitment while they are yet to be captured biometrically and paid their salaries.

They appealed to Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, to urgently intervene by directing the institution to capture them biometrically and ensure the payment of their outstanding arrears and monthly salaries.
