Unknown gunmen last night stormed Ovogo community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, shooting indiscriminately. The incident has sparked fear among inhabitants of Ovogo, due to speculation that the hoodlums were out for an assassination mission. A source from the community who to our correspondent on telephone, said the gunmen were initially mistaken for operatives of the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS. The people of Ovogo are now calling on security agencies, including the Rivers State Police Command and the Military Joint Task Force to intervene and protect them against attacks by hoodlums. The Rivers State Police Command has paraded more than fifteen suspected criminals who were arrested in different parts of the state. The suspects were paraded by the Commissioner of Police, MUSA KIMO at the Command Headquarters in Port Harcourt. That was the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, MUSA KIMO.
