UNIVERSITY OF PORTHARCOURT APPEAL HEARING AGAINST ITS GRADUANDS GETS DATE

Recall that the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt in its judgment had ordered the University Management to issue certificates to one thousand two hundred graduands of the institution arising from the policy of ‘no fee, no exam,’ which the court declared as unlawful, prompting the management to approach the appeal court.

Our correspondent reports that the matter which was slated for hearing yesterday could not go on due to absence of the panel to hear case, which could not sit for pertinent reason and consequently fixed 11th December for hearing.

Speaking to our correspondent, Counsel to the respondents, KINGDOM CHUKWUEZI, said what the graduands are asking for is settlement, in order to move forward with their lives.

On his part, Counsel to University of Port Harcourt, EMEKA NJOKU, explained that the legal team have served all necessary applications and are waiting for the appeal court’s decision.
