The Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Owunari Georgewill, has urged postgraduate student leaders to demonstrate selfless service and commitment to the collective progress of the institution.
Professor Georgewill gave the charge when the newly elected executives of the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) paid him a courtesy visit in his office. He emphasized that collaboration between the GSA and the university management is crucial for achieving the association’s objectives and enhancing academic development.
Earlier, at the swearing-in ceremony of the new GSA leadership, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Professor Chima Wokocha, advised the executives to be prudent, innovative, and dedicated in their service to students.
In his remarks, the new GSA President, Nnamdi Sam-Nwala, pledged to run an all-inclusive administration that will prioritize the welfare of postgraduate students.
The new executives were sworn in at the University’s School of Graduate Studies, with their tenure expected to last for one year.
