The committees include; a committee to resolve subsisting legal issues between the university and other parties and a committee on staff and student grievances.
A statement issued by the University’s Public Relations Officer SAM said the committees have been given one month to submit their reports.
Acting vice Chancellor of the UNIPORT, Professor Stephen Okodudu who inaugurated the committees said the numerous court cases and disaffection among staff and students had continue to widen the gap of communality in the academic environment adding that it must be bridged to avoid further damages.
He enjoined the committees to ensure they do not open new contentious issues or engage in blame game.
