This follows a peace meeting between the UN officials and security operatives, brokered by the Borno state governor, KASHIM SHETTIMA.
The UN had announced the suspension of activities after soldiers raided the building housing its officials, an action it described as undiplomatic.
But the army claimed it was not aware the building belonged to the United Nations.
At the peace meeting, Governor SHETTIMA described the “cordon and search” operations by the military on the UN premises in Maiduguri as regrettable.
The governor said his government was committed to ensuring the safety of humanitarian workers and restoration of international protocol by all security agencies.
Also at the meeting, the UN deputy humanitarian coordinator, PETER LUNDBERG said that in spite of the incident, UN’s relationship of trust and collaboration with the government of Nigeria remained intact.
