ULC Reaches Deal with FG, Gears up to Resume Suspended Strike

You will recall that the ULC had embarked on an indefinite nationwide strike last month only to announce that it was suspending the action after three days.
The Union leaders said they had secured the consent of government for a meeting on 26th September to discuss the contentious issues.
But sixteen days after the scheduled meeting, our correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA gathered that the ULC leaders were yet to have an audience with the government officials.
A source within the Rivers State branch of ULC said the union may be left with no choice than to resume the industrial action if the government continues to delay the meeting.
The Deputy General Secretary of the ULC, CHRIS ONYEKA, also said his union was getting frustrated with what he described as a plot to delay the meeting with government.
