Our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA was at the PHED head office on Moscow Road in Port Harcourt and reports that the National President of the newly formed ULC, JOE AJAERO flew in from Lagos to join the protest.
AJAERO told our correspondent in an interview that the leadership of the union held series of meetings with the management of PHED and the Rivers State Police Commission, ZAKI AHMED.
He said PHED management appealed for time to study a judgment by the National Industrial Court, which is one of the issues in contention.
AJAERO said a meeting will be called with other executive members of the United Labour Congress to determine the next line of action.
The National President of ULC said part of their demands from PHED management is in the interest of electricity consumers.
The management of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company is yet to speak directly with the media on the development.
