The Ubima People in a gathering that appeared to be a protest in Port Harcourt, issued a seven day-ultimatum against Siat to either visit the community to explain the reasons for its action or reinstate their son to his position as the Chief Security Office.
The Spokesman of Ubima Town Council of Chiefs, Innocent Amadi who spoke on behalf of the Chiefs in council, called on the government to prevail on the company to do the needful, warning that failure of the company to comply will result to demand of their landed property.
Chief Amadi complained that since the company began operation in 1970s, the host community has never benefited from it.
On his part, the Spokesman of Ubima Aha in Council, Oha Anthony Umezuruike in an interview with Today FM’S Uchendu Ejiowhor, threatened that Ubima people will rise up to demand for all their entitlements as contained in the memorandum of understanding.
Today FM’S correspondent reports that the Siat Company is yet to react to the allegations as the Public Relations officer, Lucky Ezinwho did not take his calls or reply to a message sent to his mobile phone.
