Turkey Erdogan wins on referendum.

The executive presidency canvassed by President RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN succeeded with just over fifty-one percent of the vote.

But Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party has vowed to challenge the legitimacy of the close result due to alleged irregularities in the electoral process.

The CHP is demanding a recount of sixty percent of the votes, questioning a decision to pass unstamped ballot papers as valid unless proven otherwise.

It may interest you to note that Turkey’s three biggest cities – Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir – all voted No to the constitutional changes.
