The latest controversy was incited by images comparing the crowds that attended the inauguration of President TRUMP last Friday and those at the first term inauguration of President BARACK OBAMA in 2009.
The images taken off the National Mall during the two different events showed a larger crowd of people at the OBAMA inauguration eight years ago.
President TRUMP had a day after the ceremony in Washington DC condemned media reporting of the number of people in attendance on his inauguration.
One of his aides and White House Chief of Staff REINCE PRIEBUS has also joined to advance the controversy, which he described as an obsession to de-legitimise the Trump Presidency.
PRIEBUS said the Trump Administration was not going to sit around and take actions that are intended to de-legitimise the election; as the Trump’s Presidency would fight such coverage tooth and nail every day.
TRUMPS’s Press Secretary SEAN SPICER also rose in defence, but added that there was no record of the number of people who attended the inaugurations.
But reports say many media outlets in the US that have cited the photos of the National Mall have criticized the statement by TRUMP’s aides.
For instance; the New York Times reportedly denounced TRUMP’s false claim and described the statements as a striking display of invective and grievance at the dawn of a presidency.
