Traders at the Oyigbo Main Market have staged a protest over extortion and exploitation by agents of the local government council under the past administration.The traders alleged that they were made to pay the sum of three hundred and twenty thousand naira each for the allocation of shops at the Oyigbo Main Market.They protesters said the council authorities then under the leadership of FELIX NWEKE had said part of the money would go into the construction of a new market at the free zone area but expressed regret that it never came to pass.Some of the women who spoke with our Correspondent LEVI ISU recounted the sufferings they had been subjected to, and called on the Rivers State Government to intervene.State Chairman of the traders association, BRIGHT EDI was also present to address the market women, threatened to initiate legal action against the former Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government council, FELIX NWEKE.
