Top judicial officials in Ghana are to face corruption investigation by the country’s judicial council.
Chief Justice GEORGINA THEODORA WOOD has summoned twelve high court judges and twenty-two lower court justices implicated in the scheme.
This comes two years after a celebrated Ghanaian journalist, ANAS AREMEYAW ANAS uncovered alleged corrupt activities by at least thirty-four judges.
Investigation by ANAS alleged that judges had taken bribes and extorted money.
Ghana’s Chief Justice is to handle the investigation and has been handed nearly five hundred hours of video evidence documenting the allegations.
Meanwhile; ANAS AREMEYAW ANAS has been granted immunity by the Attorney-General under Ghana’s whistle-blower act to pursue the story.
