Tinubu Seeks World Bank Support for Nigeria’s Economic Reforms

President Bola Tinubu has called on the World Bank to support Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms, particularly in the areas of agriculture, youth employment, and private sector growth. He said such support is critical to his administration’s strategy to strengthen the economy and create more opportunities for Nigerians.

The president made the appeal on Tuesday while receiving a World Bank delegation led by Anna Bjerde, Managing Director of Operations, at the State House, Abuja. Tinubu emphasised the importance of international partnerships in driving sustainable development and boosting economic resilience.

Bjerde, in response, expressed the World Bank’s commitment to collaborating with Nigeria on initiatives that enhance productivity, job creation, and inclusive growth, highlighting ongoing and planned projects aligned with the government’s reform agenda.
