The United Nations Security Council has joined in the growing list of condemnation against the attack on the Saudi embassy in Tehran by Shia protesters in Iran. The protest was sparked by the execution of a senior Shai cleric by the Saudi government, but the UN Security Council statement made no mention of Sheik NIMR AL-NIMR.Saudi Arabia has already cut off diplomatic ties with Iran because of the action, with other Arab allies, including Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Bahrain taking similar actions in solidarity with the Saudi authorities.Kuwait is also recalling its ambassador from Iran, as the row over the execution of Sheik NIMR AL-NIMR deepens. However; Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister, NUMAN KURTULMUS has urged both Iran and Saudi Arabia to calm the row.The United States and the United Nations have also called for de-escalation of tensions.
