The suspects were arrested in, Etche, Emohua, Ahoada-East, Abua-Odual and Ikwerre Local Government Areas.
Soldiers involved in different patrol operations across the state also recovered arms and ammunition, including dynamites, from the hoodlums in various locations.The Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, attached to the Two Brigade, Captain ELI LAZARUS, said the recovered firearms include sixteen AK 47 rifles, five General Purpose Machine Guns, two Fabrique National rifles, six pump action rifles, eleven Dane guns and three G-Three rifles.
Two Berratta pistols and two revolver pistols, as well as assorted rifle magazines and about eight hundred and thirty-five rounds of ammunition were also recovered from the criminals terrorizing parts of Rivers State.Other items include a pair of military boots, three military belts, one fragment jacket, three lanyard, one cartridge belt and nine pieces of dynamite.Captain ELI LAZARUS said the breakthrough was made possible through the stepping-up of operations by the Two Brigade of the Nigerian Army to stem the tide of criminal activities within its areas of responsibility. The Army spokesman assured residents that the Brigade would continue to work assiduously and make sacrifices to clear criminals in its area of operations.He said members of the public are also enjoined to continue to provide security agencies with useful and timely information that could lead to the arrest of criminals in the society.
