The trial of Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI, by the Code of Conduct Tribunal over criminal charges involving alleged false declaration of assets has been stalled.Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that Senator BUKOLA SARAKI stormed the court today with close to seventy lawyers in continuation of the case.However; the defence lawyer, KANU AGABI who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, drew attention of the CCT to a motion challenging the jurisdiction of the tribunal to continue with the case.KANU AGABI urged the tribunal to first rule on the motion before proceeding with the hearing.However, the prosecution counsel, ROTIMI JACOBS who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, countered the motion.ROTIMI JACOBS recalled that the Supreme Court had already settled the matter of jurisdiction and asked all parties to go back to the tribunal.The prosecution also contended that he had not been served of the notice of the motion by the defence team.In his ruling; the Chairman of the Tribunal asked the parties to be properly served with notices and replies on the motion and adjourned the case to 18th March.
