The Rivers State chapter of All Progressives Congress has advised Rivers people, irrespective of political affiliations, to act within the law before, during and after the re-run elections on 19th of March. The APC said it decided to make the appeal against the backdrop of what it described as highly troubling, inciting and unlawful directive by Governor NYESOM WIKE to PDP members to resist unlawful arrest by security agents. The APC, in a statement released by its State Publicity Secretary, CHRIS FINEBONE, said it believes that the directive by the Governor to his party members was mischievous, dishonest and dangerous. The APC spokesman wandered whether Governor WIKE properly explained to his party members how to differentiate between legal and illegal arrests, as well as the implications for resisting arrest by security operatives.Furthermore; the APC spokesman in Rivers State also picked holes in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media, ORAYE SAINT FRANKLYN in which he alleged that the APC was playing politics with the wave of violence in the state.
