The Presidency has ordered the immediate arrest of former National Security Adviser,SAMBO DASUKI. The order is based on the findings of the thirteen-man committee set up by the Office of the National Security Adviser to audit the procurement of arms and equipment for the Armed Forces and Defence sector from 2007. A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, FEMI ADESINA, said the report of the investigative committee uncovered several illicit and fraudulent financial transactions. Among other discoveries, the committee uncovered payments to the tune of Three Billion, Eight Hundred and Fifty Million Naira to a single company by the former National Security Adviser, without documented evidence of contractual agreement or fulfilment of tax obligations to the Federal Government. You will recall that SAMBO DASUKI had approached the court seeking to enforce his fundamental right to life and dignity over the continued siege at his Asokoro residence by operatives of the Department of State Services.
