The Presidency has distanced itself from the ongoing legal battle by the Senate President, Doctor Bukola Saraki. The Presidency also said that those claiming that the Code of Conduct Bureau and the Code of Conduct Tribunal were acting on external instigation were uninformed. A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu said that there is no place in law that the Bureau and The tribunal are meant to take instructions from any quarters. The Presidential spokesman said President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has vowed to respect the rule of law, and is doing that by staying out of the matter.
