The People’s Democratic Party has criticized the investigation of former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator GODSWILL AKPABIO, alleging that it amounts to using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to weaken the opposition ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Briefing newsmen in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, OLISAH METUH said the anti-corruption war of the APC-led administration was targeted at only PDP members. The PDP spokesman also criticised the APC for allegedly supporting corrupt officials for governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states. Former Governor of Akwa Ibom state, GODSWILL AKPABIO who is currently the Senate Minority Leader, was invited by the EFCC last Friday in connection with a petition against him when he was governor.
