The obstruction of the Rumuolumeni Road by petrol tanker drivers is not going down well with residents of the community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The poor condition of the road leading to the petrol depot in Rumuolumeni forced the tanker drivers to park their vehicles on both sides of the road, thereby making it difficult for other road users. Following the hardship faced by residents; the Rumuolumeni Community Development Committee has expressed displeasure over indiscriminate parking of petrol tankers. The CDC spokesman, CHINDA FELIX who briefed newsmen after a meeting at the community’s town hall, said businesses in the area are suffering, just as workers and school children find it difficult to go out and come in. The CDC spokesman called on the petrol depot owners and the Rivers State government to make provision for a parking lot for the tanker drivers. Correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that the stretch of parked petrol tankers has extended beyond Rumuolumeni Road down to Ikwerre Road in Port Harcourt.
