The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps is deploying over five thousand personnel in Rivers State for the re-run elections this Saturday.
The NSCDC team for the elections in Rivers State is led by the Imo State Commandant, PEDRO AWILI IDEBA.This was made known during a media briefing in Port Harcourt by the leader of the team.Commandant IDEBA assured Rivers people that the NSCDC would ensure that electoral materials are safe during election.He appealed to youth in Rivers State to be peaceful, as he promised to collaborate with other security agencies to protect lives and properties during the election.Correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that the Commandant of the NSCDC also dismissed insinuations that the massive deployment of security operatives in Rivers state makes the area look more like a war zone.
