This is because the Nigerian Senate has begun a fresh attempt to alter the Electoral Act, ahead of the general elections next year, but it is unclear what the lawmakers intend to introduce in the latest round of amendment.
The move is coming less than a month after President MUHAMMADU BUHARI declined assent to the last amendment of the Electoral Act by the federal lawmakers.
