The Minister of Transport and immediate-past governor of Rivers State, ROTIMI CHIBUIKE AMAECHI is set to relocate from Abuja to his home state temporarily.ROTIMI AMAECHI is due to arrive in Port Harcourt today on a mission to lead the campaign of the All Progressives Congress for the re-run elections on 19th of March.AMAECHI gave this indication while responding to questions on a live television programme monitored in Port Harcourt.The former governor used the occasion to criticize the style of governance of his successor, Governor NYESOM WIKE, stressing that he was never prepared to be governor.The Transport Minister also joined issues with Governor WIKE on the worsening insecurity in Rivers State, for which he accused the Commissioner of Police and the entire police force of abetting.He said for failing to provide security of lives and property, as enshrined in his oath of office, Governor WIKE no longer qualifies to hold such position.ROTIMI AMAECHI said the ineffectiveness of the police in curbing crimes and criminality is because the force had failed to sanitize itself from the dishonorable role it played during the last elections.The former governor also questioned the order granted by Justice GOERGE OMERIJI of the Rivers State High Court, restraining the security agencies from arresting some PDP members in the state.On the activities of the Transport Ministry under his watch; the Minister assured that the Port Harcourt International Airport is in for a complete turnaround, together with an expanded tarmac, once the 2016 Budget is passed by the National Assembly and signed into law.
