The Management of the National Youth Service Corps has confirmed the death of a Corps member during the re-run elections held in Rivers State at the weekend.

The Management of the National Youth Service Corps has confirmed the death of a Corps member during the re-run elections held in Rivers State at the weekend.The NYSC Management gave the name of the victim as OKONTA DUMEBI SAMUEL who was deployed in Ahoada West Local Government Area as an ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission.According to a statement purportedly released by the NYSC Management; OKONTA SAMUEL was shot dead by some unknown gunmen of the day of the election.The statement noted that the death of OKONTA SAMUEL is a great loss to his immediate family, the NYSC family and the entire nation.The statement also disclosed that two other Corps members that were with the deceased at the time of the incident escaped through the help of security agents.Furthermore; the NYSC Management said another Corps member identified as ANANA ANIEKAN UDOETOR, who was earlier reported missing, has been found and is hale and hearty.
