The leadership of the Rivers State Chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees has dismissed allegations of irregularities in the promotion of its members in some Local government areas.
Some Local Government Chairmen had in the course the Staff Verification Exercise alleged that some staff of the councils were there were irregularities in the employment and promotion of staff in the same year.
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt, the State President of NULGE, FRANKLIN AJINWO stressed that it is the duty of the Local Government Service Commission to elevate council workers in a promotion exercise.
FRANKLIN AJINWO also said the Local Government Council Chairmen should have inquired from the principal staff of the Local governments to explain the process of upgrading staff in the local government.
