The immediate-past National Security Adviser, retired Colonel SAMBO DASUKI, has been charged after months of investigation.

DASUKI is accused of illegal possession of weapons, following the seizure of firearms during a raid at his private residence by operatives of the Department of State Security Service. You will recall that the former NSA had denied any wrongdoing, explaining that the weapons found at his home belonged to his security guards. DASUKI is the first senior official of the past PDP Administration under former President GOODLUCK JONATHAN to face prosecution. The move is coming twenty-four-hours after President MUHAMMADU BUHARI ordered a comprehensive investigation of the procurement of hardware and munitions for the Nigerian Military since 2007.
