The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, IBE KACHUKWU has advocated a review of the Petroleum Industry Bill. IBE KACHUKWU said the review was necessary to address the effects of dwindling oil prices in the international market, with a barrel of crude oil selling for forty dollars. Speaking during a special session at the fifty-fifth conference of the Nigerian Bar Association; the NNPC Group Managing Director said the PIB, which has been pending before the National Assembly for seven years, remains an important piece of legislation. IBE KACHUKWU said the bill requires serious and thorough consideration that can be achieved through extensive engagement with all stakeholders in a bid to resolve all contentious issues.
