The French Interior Minister BERNARD CAZENEUVE has challenged European countries to wake up to terror threats. The French official made the call following the attacks in Paris that left one hundred and twenty-nine people dead. He was speaking following revelations that the suspected Belgian ringleader of the Paris attacks had entered France undetected. European Union interior and justice ministers are to hold emergency talks in Brussels to discuss tightening checks at the external borders of the EU’s passport-free Schengen area. From the United States comes this report that the House of Representatives has approved the tightening of restrictions on the resettlement of Syrian and Iraqi refugees. Reports say dozens of Democrats joined their Republican counterparts in approving the bill, with a vote of two hundred and eighty-nine against one hundred and thirty-seven. The move comes against growing security concerns, and also stands against the position of the White House, as President BARACK OBAMA has said he will veto the legislation.
