The federal government says the nation will stop the importation of petroleum products by 2019.The government also noted that it is working hard to put an end to petrol scarcity before the end of May.These were part of the resolutions reached yesterday at the FEC meeting, presided over by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI.Short and long-term plans to revamp the nation’s refineries before the end of 2017 were also discussed at the meeting.
After the meeting, newsmen were told that all refineries in the nation would resume production fully by 2017.The Council also sympathized with Nigerians on the hardship they face in long queues to get petrol at fuel service stations, blaming it on sabotage and fuel marketers who wanted to make quick money.
