The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says there is no going back in efforts to recover funds that were allegedly stolen through fraudulent procurement contracts for the Nigerian military.Acting Chairman of the EFCC, IBRAHIM MAGU, said that the Commission will leave no stone unturned in making sure that those who benefited from the loot are brought to justice.MAGU was speaking at during a programe for the commemoration of the International Anti-corruption Day yesterday, which was marked based on the theme, ‘‘Break the Corruption Chain’’.Addressing an audience at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, the Acting EFCC Chairman said corruption is like a chain that affects various aspects of the society.He said the impact of corruption undermines democracy and the rule of law, distorts markets, erodes the quality of life, leads to human rights violations and fans the embers of terrorism and other threats to human security.
