The Defence Headquarters has said Boko Haram Terrorists fighting to set up an Islamic State in North Eastern Nigeria presently lacks the capacity to hold territory.
Defence spokesman, Colonel RABE ABUBAKAR said this in Abuja while fielding questions from newsmen during his first media conference after his appointment as acting Director Defence Information.
Responding to a question on the recent recapture of Gamboru Ngala town in Borno State from Boko Haram, ABUBAKAR said Nigerians will not be surprised with any more recapture of territories because the capacity of Boko Haram to hold territories has been degraded.
He reiterated that the re-strategized offensive against terrorists in the region has decimated their capabilities not only to hold territories but also to attack military formations in the region.
He noted that the frequent visits by the current military leadership coupled with the deployment of sophisticated weapons not only boosted the morale of troops but introduced a new dimension to the fight against terrorism.
