It was President MUHAMADU BUHARI who was billed to perform the official flag-off of the construction work during his two-day visit to Lagos State.
No reason was given for the alternation of President BUHARI with Vice President OSINBAJO, who rather acknowledged the importance of the project and commended all those who played different roles to bring it to reality.
Professor OSINBAJO also underscored some of the salient features of the Lekki Deep Seaport, and pledged the support of the Federal Government through all phases of the construction.
Lagos State Governor, AKINWUNMI AMBODE was also absent at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Lekki Deep Seaport project.
Guest at the event were told that Governor AMBODE was busy with other activities for the reception of the President and sent his Deputy, IBIAT ADEBULE, to attend the ceremony at Ibeju-Lekki.
Delivering an address on behalf of Governor AMBODE, the Lagos Deputy welcomed the Lekki Deep Seaport as a goldmine that requires complimentary investments to actualize its full potentials.
