The Commission of Inquiry investigating the immediate-past administration in Rivers State has commenced hearing on the alleged sale of the Omoku gas turbine. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power, EMEKA WOBISIKE appeared before the commission to say what he does not know about the transaction. WOBISIKE said he was unaware of some of the transactions that led to the sale of the power plants that were sold. In a memo submitted to the Justice GEORGE OMEREJI-led Commission, WOBISIKE disclosed that seventy percent equity of the power plant was sold to a private investor.
Meanwhile; the Rivers State Commission on Inquiry has upheld the application of the former Accountant-General of the state to appear on Wednesday. Correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that the commission adjourned till today to continue hearing on the state-owned power plant.
