The All Progressives Congress says the PDP has actually perfected plans to distract the Buhari Administration through what it described as rash of wild accusations against the APC-led Federal Government. The APC said the reason it is not responding to such wild accusations emanating from the PDP’s imagination is because they are nothing but an irritant. In a statement issued in Lagos by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji LAI MOHAMMED, the APC said the PDP spokesman, Chief OLISA METUH most often mistakes the APC for his party, and hence he keeps attributing to the APC the failings of his own party.
LAI MOHAMMADED said it was the same failings by the PDP that propelled the former ruling party into the opposition. He said recent statements released by the PDP spokesman shows that he has been so traumatized by the defeat of his party that he sometimes imagines he was writing about the APC when indeed he is listing the failings of his fallen party. Alhaji MOHAMMED challenged Chief METUH to substantiate the claim in his Sunday statement about contracts allegedly awarded to the APC National Spokesman or be ready to do so in court. The statement maintained that the APC spokesman has never been involved in any airport fencing contract in Osun or any deal involving fraudulent purchase or supply of ambulances anywhere in Nigeria.
The APC insisted that OLISA METUH is mortally afraid that he could be consumed by the ongoing anti-corruption battle, because of the allegations of graft hanging on his neck, as contained in published petitions to the anti-graft agencies from within his own party. The statement further noted that METUH’s assault on the Buhari Administration’s anti-corruption battle is a failed attempt at saving his own neck and that of his party.
