The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State has set up a committee to organize a ceremony in honour of individuals who were killed in politically related violence before, during and after the 2015 general elections. The Rivers APC also set up another committee charged with the responsibility of membership re-validation and registration; a move which could be in anticipation that the nullification of the 2015 governorship and some House of Assembly elections would be validated on Appeal. Our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that committee on membership revalidation is headed by EMEKA BEKE who is also the State Secretary of the APC. The committee for the mourning of victims of political violence in Rivers State has FRED IGWE as the Chairman.
State Chairman of the APC, Chief DAVIES IKANYA performed the inauguration of the committees at the state secretariat of the party in Port Harcourt.
IKANYA called on Rivers people across party lines to identify with the APC and honour victims of political violence in the state.
