The All Progressives Congress has won the Borno Central senatorial bye-election, having polled 75 per cent of the total votes cast.

The All Progressives Congress has won the Borno Central senatorial bye-election, having polled 75 per cent of the total votes cast.In a result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the APC candidate, BABA GARBAI beat his closest rival, KAKA BOLORI, of the PDP who polled 20 per cent of the total votes cast.
The total number of votes cast in the election held on Saturday was one hundred and fifty-nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-eight.
GARBAI was declared winner with one hundred and twenty thousand, six hundred and thirty-nine, while BOLORI of the PDP scored thirty two thousand, three hundred and forty six votes
However, the PDP candidate has rejected the result of the election, claiming it was cooked up to achieve a predetermined mindset.
