The All Progressives Congress has confirmed the killing of one of its supporters in Buguma town in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The party’s governorship candidate in the 2015 general election, DAKUKU PETERSIDE, said the victim identified as OFINIJITE AMACHREE was killed in a mob attack earlier today.PETERSIDE disclosed in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, SYLVESTER ASOYA, that OFINIJITE AMACHREE was first beaten up before he was burnt alive by thugs suspected to be loyal to a rival political party.Following the development; DAKUKU PETERSIDE decried what he described frightening and unprecedented mass executions in Rivers State.He said the pathetic security situation in Rivers State is as a result of a direct affront on the federal government’s power to protect lives and property within its territory.The APC chieftain the time to stop the killing is now, alleging that PDP members appear to have heeded a call to attack members of the opposition and electoral personnel who stands on their way to victory in the forthcoming rerun elections in Rivers State.Meanwhile; the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, CHRIS FINEBONE, has also expressed concern that no other party have claimed their members were killed in the violent attacks in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area.
