We gathered that in a joint operation, the task force led by the Coordinator, BRIGHT AMEWHULE stormed a market centre at Akani Filling Station and New World Plaza within Rumuokoro by East-West Road to effect their mandate.
The team also visited Rumuolumeni community market popularly called Big Tree Market, Sangana-Uyo Street in Mile 2 Diobu as well as Francis Estate Rumuodomaya along Port Harcourt international Airport Road with an excavator to destroy what they termed illegal structures.
Our correspondent who encountered the operation at Sangana-Uyo Street reports that the operation also involved the dislodgement of the traders, impounding of goods and destruction of some items belonging to the traders.
Meanwhile; our correspondent was at the head office of the task force at Aba road and reports that it took the intervention of some persons to calm what would have been a clash between the members of the task force and police personnel attached to the mile one division.
Trouble started when a senior police officer from the mile one division visited the task force office to make a complaint when some individuals mounting the gate asked the senior officer to fill a form before gaining access to the office of the co-coordinator.
