The truce is expected to be followed with coordinated air strikes against Islamic State jihadists by the United States and Russia.
The move has been welcomed by embattled Syrian President, BASHA AL-ASSAD following an agreement reached between the US and Russia in Geneva on Friday last week, after months of talks.
The Free Syrian Army rebel group has written to the United States, saying it would cooperate positively with the ceasefire, in spite of concern that US-Russian mission would benefit the Syrian government.
However; the influential hardline Islamist Ahrar al-Sham rebel group has rejected the ceasefire deal.
The group’s second-in-command, ALI AL-OMAR said in a video statement that a rebellious people who have fought and suffered for six years cannot accept half-solutions.
