Security forces responded with a return fire, killing two of the assailants.
The shooting began shortly after 9M last night around Ouagadougou’s busy Kwame Nkrumah Avenue.
Police captain GUY YE told Associated Press that the attackers arrived in the area on motorcycles and started shooting randomly.
The latest attack comes after over a year and seven months when a jihadist attack on a nearby cafe killed thirty people.

Turkey’s foreign ministry has confirmed that one of the dead was Turkish, while unconfirmed reports say another victim was French.
President ROCH MARC CHRISTIAN KABORE has condemned the shooting, which he called a despicable and cowardly terrorist attack, just as France’s President EMMANUEL MACRON also condemned the attack.
