SUPREME COURT TO RULE ON ADC, PDP LEADERSHIP CRISES

The Supreme Court is set to deliver judgment today on the leadership crises rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While the ADC matter is scheduled for 2:00 pm, the time for the PDP case has not been disclosed.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier de-recognised the David Mark-led leadership of the ADC, citing a Court of Appeal judgment. INEC also declined recognition of Nafiu Bala Gombe, who approached the court seeking to be declared national chairman.

The commission said it would refrain from recognising either faction or monitoring their activities pending the final determination of the suit.

In the PDP case, the apex court is expected to rule on an appeal seeking to validate the outcome of the party’s national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025.

The Taminu Turaki-led faction is urging the court to overturn earlier judgments of the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal, which nullified the convention.
