The National Chairman of the PDP, Senator ALI MODU-SHERRIF is challenging the competence of the appeal by the Makarfi Group against the judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, which affirmed his leadership of the PDP.
The PDP’s appeal was filed by LATIF FAGBEMI, in addition to another motion filed by Senator SHERIFF’s lawyer, AKIN OLUJIMI, for the same purpose.
According to the two motions, the PDP and its National Chairman want the Supreme Court to strike out the appeal by the National Caretaker Committee on the ground that they have no authority to initiate such action on behalf of the PDP by virtue of the Port Harcourt Court of Appeal judgment on 27th February.
Justice TANKO MOHAMMED is presiding over a five-man panel of the Apex Court to hear the two motions.
