Our correspondent gathered that ANIETE, whose son has been on the run, was rearrested by the police over the weekend for drawing attention to alleged violation of her right by the police.
The Vacation Court presided over by Justice I.R MINAKIRI has therefore ordered the police to release ANIETE following an application seeking to enforce her fundamental human rights and personal liberty.
Counsel to the applicant, CHRISTIAN NJIGUM told the court that the police had consistently harassed his client.
Meanwhile, after listening to the narrative of the parties, Justice MINAKIRI said the applicant should be allowed to pursue her case of violation of her rights.
The Judge also issued a restraining order against the police from arresting UDUAK and her husband in place of their son who allegedly committed a crime.
