Our correspondent gathered that members of OSPAC were arrested around some checkpoints in the local government by soldiers for alleged possession of illegal sophisticated fire arms which is believed to be contrary to the rules of engagement.
A youth leader in ONELGA, BRIGHT ABALI who confirmed the development to our correspondent said the continued detention of members of OSPAC could have grave consequences on the security of the area.
ABALI who is the leader of Peace Advocate Group in a statement said just like the Civilian Joint Taskforce in the Northern part of the country, OSPAC have voluntarily demonstrated gallantry in their operation, particularly rescuing a kidnapped officer and degrading cult gangs in the area.
ABALI while maintaining that OSPAC deserves encouragement and training to continue to aid security operatives in the fight against criminality, expressed fears that there has been tension in ONELGA since the arrest of over ten members of the OSPAC last weekend.
Nigeria Army is however yet to confirmed the arrest and detention of the OSPAC members.
