The Court in its judgement asked SOWORE to provide two sureties that must swear to an affidavit means of over fifty million naira and show evidence of tax payment, while the second defendant, OLAWALE BAKARE was granted bail in the sum of fifty million naira and a surety in like sum.
SOWORE and BAKARE had been in custody of the Department of State Services, DSS since August 3 when they were arrested.
Presiding Judge Justice IJEOMA OJUKWU said the prosecution failed to show good reasons why the defendants should not be granted bail since the offences are bail-able.
SOWORE was arraigned on September 30, alongside OLAWALE BAKARE, his co-defendant, on a seven-count charge of felony brought against him by the federal government.
Meanwhile; FEMI FALANA who is counsel to OMOYELE SOWORE, described the conditions of his client’s bail as harsh.
